I said I wouldn't do it. But several clients later, Vista problems from them and a Vista based laptop in hand, ran through each of the problems as described by my clients and nope, nothing works like they said it did. This website has errors - no. I'm not able to save, saving is fine. Difference? I'm on a new install and they're on upgrades with older machines.
I don't want to trash a machine just to upgrade. What happens if it trashes the whole machine - oh well, right? Use a trash machine just for that purpose. But I'm wondering, there are so many possible issues, hardware, peripherals, software installs, upgrades done and not done. Patches to this and that. Identifying an issue on a PC isn't that different from a medical person identifying an issue with you.
What if I install the upgrade, and worse then not working, what if it works fine? Anyone have a checklist for Vista issues?
