Perhaps businesses could take a few lessons from Seabiscuit's trainer, Tom Smith, Tom was the ranch foreman at my family's horseranch in Colorado before he left for California in the early 1910-1920s. My grandfather was a very quiet man and Tom was considered to be a near mute. I imagine that the conversations consisted mostly of yeps and nods. Seabiscuit opens tomorrow.
