I've been working on websites this week. My own, as well as client web visions. Its a happy activity, in the design phase. Picking pleasing color schemes, creating wireframes, documenting website flow. Its a nice diversion from the eventual implementation I'll have to do.
I really enjoy the process of creating a user interface. Composing a pleasing palette, ensuring the parts and pieces work well together. Then placing it in front of the client becomes somewhat like coming up to bat in a baseball game. Sometimes you tap the ball and never make it to first, sometimes you strike out, and it feels terrific when you manage to hit it far enough to make it to home, otherwise referred to as a homerun.
I aim for the homeruns, avoid striking out and sometimes I only get on first. But its still a lot of fun to get up to bat.
