Burning the Candle at Both Ends

September 26th, 2003 · No Comments

Earlier this year, a professional lost his life at the age of 47. Last week we lost John Ritter at the age of 54. Today we lost Robert Palmer, also 54. Each of these men I would consider a major loss to their professions, I'm sure many would agree with me. All were lost to heart disease. I have to wonder if the heart disease could be attributed to their workstyles. I know that each of them were dedicated to their family and friends, but also had major work ethics that pushed them to their successful careers.

Can we be successful without burning the candle at both ends and dying at a young age? Would these men have lived longer if they were not as driven to succeed? Can I choose to live longer without giving up my work ethic?
