A Fond Farewll

Tonight, we said a final farewell to Ronald Reagan. Although he was from Illinois, we in California considered him one of our own. As a military wife, during his presidency, I actually felt we made a difference and he cared what happened to the military and their families. I'll remember him as a great man, he deserved the honorable send off he received.

He carried himself with grace and treated everyone with respect. He was struck down in 1994 with a disease that robs one of their final years, yet he carried himself with the same dignity he always had. As I watched the various ceremonies this week, I'm struck with the same sadness as burying one of my own.

He is at rest now and I wish his wife and family the peace and dignity they deserve for sharing him in life and in death. Thank you Nancy for your courage and your strength.
